Hi guys!! Long time no see ;)
well, I returned to my home country Austria 4 months ago.
A while ago I started blogging again. This time about travelling, cooking, baking, Vienna and the student's life :)
Please Follow Me!!
Thanks for reading!! :)
Swedish Maddie, you will probably lyao right now :D We had such a good weekend!!!
But let's start at the beginning :)
I was off from 6.45pm on friday night. Met up with some friends, including Oskar who baked awesome Silvia Cake!!!
Then after 4,5 hours of sleep Maddie and Alina and me headed downtown to Wrigley Field for the Cubs game. Surprisingly the Chicago Cubs won :DDDDD
After the game we walked into the Loop along the beach :) Love Chicago in the summer!!! Feels a little like Barcelona.
After visiting the Chicago City Model we grabbed some sushi. Then Alina left us. And then the fun began :DDDD Maddie and me wanted to have some ice cream, went to Target, goofed around, invented the White Swag, and then headed off to Navy Pier after ice cream from 7-eleven. Fireworks there, and then "The Great Gatsby" in the theater. Came home with 64738291067483 blisters and totally tired and exhausted but it was so worth it.
Sunday I forced myself to wake up after 5 hours of sleep again. Heading downtown again. Museum of Contemporary Art, Beach and some good gelato :))))))
In the evening my swag-partner-neighbor came over for BBQ dinner!!
Perfect Summer Weekend!!!
I've been really lazy with blogging lately. Well, I was busy ;)
On mother's day Valerie and me have decided to go for a day to the Six Flags Amusement Park. Normally I m not a huge fan of all that stuff but since I am in the USA and entertainment is such a big thing here I went for it :)
When we arrived there I honestly was a bit afraid, I am such a pussy when it comes to being alittle bit brave... But I would have been too embaressed to NOT go with Valerie on every single rollercoaster. Up and down, upside down, backwards and forward, sitting or in superman position ;) it was so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I felt exactly like in the Computer game Roller coaster tycoon :D
Since I cannot be at home this year for mother's day I will do it a little bit different this year. First of all I wanna say a big THANK YOU to my mum, who is simply the best!!! I love you so much & miss you even more!!! Usually I got up a little earlier on mother's day back home and picked some fresh spring flowers. This year I cannot do that but instead I got some web-flowers, which means pictures of flowers ;) I hope you like them and mum, I hope you get spoiled today <3
This week I did a lot of beauty stuff, and since my collection of beauty products has been growing ever sicne I arrived here, I thought it might be nice to show you where my money is actually going.
First of all I got rid of my winter fur ;) hihi, was necessary after a while and I really love the cosmetic studio I've been to.
Then I treated myself with a face mask, a manicure and a pedicure.
And since Netta and me went shopping together last weekend, of course I came home with a ton of beauty stuff. My favourite product right now is a dry oil for my hair. It smells super good, and does a fantastic job with making my hair soft and shiny but at the same time not greasy.
Here are some pictures :) Enjoy!!
The weather surprised me all the time here. It was supposed to be rainy and bad and cold the last weekend, but as normal for Chicago, it came differently. It was amazing spring weather the entire weekend long!!
So I changed my plans for the sunday. Originally I wanted to head downtown to the Museum of Contemporary Art but then I spontainously invited Maddie and Netta over for breakfast :)
Real European Breakfast on the porch in the sun!! Awesome :)))))
And the challenge that I was talking about: I wanna get fit again. I was not super fit when I came here but definitely in better shape than right now ;) So I wanna get sporty again. Maddie and me signed up for a 5K and so I need to do something to not roll like a giantic ball but more keep up with super fit Maddie :)
Friday night a couple of my friends came over. I suggested to them to have a BBQ because it is the beginning of the grilling-season and it is just a great way to get together, enjoy good food and have a great and realxed evening :)
Anyway, in the beginning, everyone was like "Uh... I'm on a diet right now, I'll bring my own salad!" Bah!! I mean, BBQ, homemade, healthy!!!??
So in the end I could convince everyone and even those who came with no eating intention actually couldn't resist :) Mission accomplished. Healthy diet is fine, but enjoying food is more important. And good food is most of the time healthy anyway ;)
And even dessert, a real Viennese Guglhupf, was gone after everyone left :)
Finally I come around and tell you more about my last weekend in Connecticut. It was amazing and even though I've been there for four days the time went by way too fast. Magda and me were laughing, spending a lot of time in the car, listening to some really good songs, catching up on so many things, talking until late in the night (actually morning hours), and of course eating ;)
Well, you already know what we did until Saturday afternoon. Late Saturday we visited New Haven, Yale University (the most beautiful University I've EVER seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and then going out in Hartford. On Sunday we drove up to Boston, went to a Baseballgame in Fenwaypark and were walking around in the Backbay Area, where the bombs exploded a couple of weeks ago. Boston is still full of police officers and people who are sad. But the City will recover soon, I hope.
Here you can find the pictures from the weekend in New England :)
Before I'll bombard you with pictures or more stories from Connecticut, I wanna tell you about the cupcakes the girls and me baked last week. On Tuesday Soccer was cancelled because of the miserable weather and so we had a lot of time which we filled with baking :)
This time we created Chocolate Cupcakes with Chocolate Coconut Mousse Filling and Thin-Mint Frosting topped with a frozen Chocolate Garnish. Emily is right, this already sounds like one of the Cupcakes on the TV Show "Cupcake Wars".
But have a look yourself :)
Hello everyone outside there :)
As some of you may know, I am right now in Connceticut and visit Magda here. I flew out of Chicago very early on Thursday morning, was right in time for a little pre-lunch in Boston's Chinatown (haha only 2$), took the Greyhound bus to Hartford, where Magda picked me up!! Since then, we have been laughing and talking non stop. We don't even find time to actually sleep ;)
So what did we do? Well, we started with cooking dinner (oh yeah, Austian Bacon Dumplings) for her hostfamily. Then we were out in a really nice bar where I met Magda's friends. On friday in the morning all the Au Pair friends came over to have a brunch with us. Afterwards we headed downtown. Hartford, or Connecticut in general is REALLY pretty and looks a lot like Austria. It is also very warm right here and there are flowers and tweeting birds all around :) Yesterday in the evening we grabbed some FroYo and then watched a movie at home, ended up talking until 2 in the morning and then had to wake up at 6.30 again because of the ColorRun. I didn't participate but I took about 1000 pictures there and had a lot of fun, too. Then we met up with two other Austian girls (to be exact with Verena, who worked at my mom's place, and Kathrin). And now we are heading to Yale in New Haven.
Love you guy!! I'll load up the pictures in the next couple of days :)
